Apple has recently released a new Operating System - OS X Lion. In order to determine the compatibility of OS X Lion with your EMR, we recommend that you first contact yourEMR vendor.
At the moment, the first compatibility issue noted by PITO is in the use of the PPN VPN solution. In addition, other reports have noted incompatibilities with the new OS, such as plug-in extensions for Safari 5.0, Dropbox, Pacifist, some Adobe software and MS Office 2004 failing.
When a new OS is released, other hardware and software vendors need time to study these changes in order to develop and test their patches. Although there are many new patches coming out at the moment to work with OS XLion, many are still considered beta-ware.
Therefore, based on conversations with Apple consultants, they and PITO recommend waiting for a period of three to six months, actually closer to six months, before updating to the new OS.
