Changes to PITO Policies

September 09, 2009

The PITO Steering Committee has recently approved two changes reflected in v1.3 of the PITO Policies (PDF), now posted on the website.

  • A policy has been added to accommodate rural/ remote underserved areas where physicians frequently practice for a relatively short time and then move
  • The paragraph related to the Core Data Set has been removed from the PITO policies as there are no plans to proceed with the related projects to enable exchange of the Core Data Set between physicians during the term of the Physician Master Agreement (April 1, 2006 - March 31, 2012) or the PITO Registration Agreements

These changes take effect immediately for all new registrations. For those already registered, according to the PITO Registration Agreements already in place:

"Any changes or modifications to PITO Policies will take effect upon notice to the Registrant, which may occur in writing or through electronic mail at the addresses provided in the PITO Enrollment Form or addresses subsequently modified by the Registrant through an address change notification. The continued acceptance of funding for the PITO Solution Offering following receipt of changes or modifications to PITO Policies will constitute the Registrant’s acceptance of such changes or modifications."

This formal notice to existing Registrants will occur via email as per the PITO Registration Agreement.
