Dr. James Lai, a Vancouver GP and PITO Local Physician Champion, conducted an in-depth study of EMR adoption in BC physician practices, funded through PITO's Program Evaluation budget.
The study provided important information on the current state of EMR adoption prior to the rollout of the PITO program, and on the barriers and opportunities physicians see in moving toward EMRs. These findings have helped to guide the PITO program.
The results of Dr. Lai's survey have been published in the April issue of the BC Medical Journal (BCMJ).
